Iris Zimmermann was born in 1984 close to Mainz (Germany). The classical paintings from baroque to romantic inspired her to first drawings, later experiments with oil and acrylic colors and various styles followed, allowing her to study shapes and textures of everyday objects and animals. Starting on mostly realistic appearance of the object or person, she began to search for more abstract or unusual ways to express non-visible aspects of the human life. These attempts resulted in a series of portraits, using mixed media techniques (oil / acryl / pencil) on canvas and wooden plates, which resulted in a contribution to the exhibition in Mombaldone (Piemonte, Italy) during early autumn of 2021 with the title of "Mutus. Quando le parole non bastano" - Mutus. When words are not enough..
In her professional career, she obtained a doctorate in physics and works in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
